Photos I've scanned recently of my grandmother, Jeanne Mazhar, and her various valentines throughout her life. Going through and archiving all our old family photos and letters has been so fascinating. I'm learning so much about everyone and feel like now that I'm older, I can understand my family members in a completely different, more complex way. I hope you get and give some extra love today - to your family, friends, neighbours, fur babies, etc.
A few things I'm thinking of doing today:
+ Making these heirloom prize ribbons
+ Listening to old school love songs
+ Watching the 1968 version of Romeo & Juliet tonight
+ Making these dark chocolate almond butter cups
And some other lovely things:
+ Maybe these string valentines for next year
+ I wouldn't mind making my own rose water or perfume either
+ I love these giant valentine's day posters for all year
+ Homemade love tea and lavender truffles sound good too

ReplyDeleteThanks! Me too, even though I'm sure it was one of those almost accident type ones. The dude in the space ship tie (which I somehow missed - how amazing!) is my mom's step dad, whom I grew up with as my grandpa. He had been raised in Pakistan but his parents were indeed Persian! Good eye! ;) My mom's birth dad was Spanish, he's the one just above in the striped tie. I think they both look so similar, it's so funny! And my grandmother was Irish American - hence the red hair which I inherited. So there you go, a little lesson in my family history! Ha.
DeleteWhat a great blend! And a good looking family. I totally thought Spanish grandad and Persian grandad were brothers! I suppose the two can look similar- when we used to go to a gym in London, some suuuuper gay trainer pulled me aside one day and asked if "my friend I was always with" was Spanish and if he was single. BWA HAHAHAHAHA.

Deletethese family pictures are just wonderful!!!! I wish I had more pictures of my grandparents and greatgranparents who lived in a small rural area close to Barcelona.
